Sony Xperia Tablet Z has got a slot for micro-SIM which is 4G ready. It does not support voice calling but the sim slot can be used for on the go Internet, which comes very handy as you can use your Internet plan from your network provider to access Internet. The tablet also boast of IP57 certification (Ingress Protection 57) which means it is dust proof & you can also dip it upto 1 meter of water. Another distinct feature of this tablet is its all new Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 which gives you better picture quality in terms of contrast, colours & sharpness, at the same time when you watch videos on the tablet it cuts down some unwanted sounds (especially needed when you are watching online videos). On the protection front this tablet has a Shatter proof and Scratch resistant display glass (break me if you can, kidding!!).
Now lets see the specs of this tab, it has a 10.1 inch LED Backlit LCD Display with Capacitive Touch Screen & Multi - Touch upto 10 Fingers. The resolution is of 1200 x 1920 Pixels, ~224 ppi pixels density & 16 M Colours. The tab comes in two basic colours Black & White. It is very slim, the Dimensions are 266 x 172 x 6.9 mm (10.47 x 6.77 x 0.27 in) & it weighs 495 gms (1.09 lb). On the display front is perfect, now lets discover it from inside. It will come out of the box with Android OS v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) & an update to Android OS v4.2 is in the pipeline. Its technical aspects are also very interesting, it holds a Quadcore 1.5 GHz Krait Processor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 Chipset, an Adreno 320 GPU & 2 Gigs of RAM (beware of the speeding ticket, *wink*). Apart from this it has under its hood Infrared Port, NFC, DLNA, Wifi, Wifi HotSpot, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB 2.0 (MHL), GPS with A-GPS Support, GLONASS. The Tab has an Internal memory of 16 GB and has a support for 64 GB microSD. On it back it bears a 8.1 MP Primary Camera with resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels & video recording of 1080 P @ 30 fps. The Camera also has features like Auto Focus, Touch Focus, Geo Tagging, HDR, Face Detection & Smile Detection. On the front is has a 2.2 MP Secondary Camera capable of Video recording of 1080 P @ 30 fps. It sports a non-removable Li-Po Battery of 6000 mAh.
