This tablet has packed in some great display and performance specifications to make it a must have tablet. Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 will be competing with the likes of Google Nexus 7 2013, Apple iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.8.0, etc. There are three variants in terms of network support viz; Wifi Only, Wifi 4G / LTE GSM & Wifi 4G / LTE CDMA, both later models support voice calling. The front panel of this tablet measures 8.9 Inch with IPS LCD Capacitive touch screen, multi touch upto 10 fingers & Fire OS 3.0 Mojito UI. The WQXGA display looks brilliant as it packs in a resolution of 2560 x 1600 Pixels, ~339 ppi pixels density, 16 M Colours. Dimensionally Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 measures 231 x 158 x 7.8 mm (9.09 x 6.22 x 0.31 in), while it weighs 374 gms (13.19 oz) in Wifi Only Model & 384 gms (13.55 oz) in 4G / LTE Models & Amazon has skipped on the variety of flavours as this tablet will come in just one option viz; Black. The multimedia of this tablet is loaded with 3.5 mm audio jack, Stereo Loudspeakers & Dolby Digital Plus Sound Enhancement, which will take your multi media experience to another level. From the exterior Amazon has stacked it with some great features and it is equally loaded on the interior. Below the sleeve Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 holds a Quadcore 2.2 GHz Krait 400 Processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 Chipset, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB RAM. Technically this tablet has come close to some of the high end smartphones available in the market. The data connectivity aspect of Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is moderately loaded with Wifi, Bluetooth, microUSB v2.0 & for positioning this tablet features GPS with support for A GPS (4G Models only). Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 will come out of the box with Android OS v4.x which is an customisation of Android Jelly Bean OS. The internal memory stored in again comes in three variants depending on your requirement viz; 16 GB / 32 GB / 64 GB & Amazon has skipped on the slot for microSD card support. For recording your memories on the go this tablet comes with a 8 MP primary camera on the rear panel with LED flash light, auto focus, geo tagging, touch focus, image stabilisation. This Primary camera can click amazing images of 3264 x 2448 Pixels resolution as well as record HD videos and there is also a Secondary camera which can record videos of 720 P @ 30 fps and according to my guesstimates should be of 2 MP.
